Anel and I have served on the board of this groundbreaking group advocating for acceptance and inclusion for families with sensory needs such as Autism, PTSD, and more. By partnering with businesses big (NFL, NBA, Carnival Cruise Lines, to name a few) and small (libraries, doctors offices, zoos) they’re making our world more sensory inclusive.

With Rise to Reunite, our local volunteer group, we’ve raised thousands in support of this remarkable group of immigration attorneys fighting to reunite families separated at our border.

Orthopædic Institute for Children

For over 100 years, OIC continues to be the leading pediatric orthopedic hospital in the West. They offer world class orthopedic care to any child that comes through their doors, in addition to life changing research and international outreach. Anel and I are proud Advisory Board members.

Below are four of the organizations Anel and I are supporting in memory of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and all of the black lives lost to police violence. If you’re looking for a way to support the Black Lives Matter movement, consider joining us.

I’ve heard speakers from BLM, in person, on multiple occasions and have been consistently impressed with their clear message, smart and creative leadership, and unparalleled organizing skills. Visit their site for ways to join the movement.

A newer organization that’s emerged as a leader in the Black Lives Matter movement. “…created as a space for Black organizations across the country to debate and discuss the current political conditions” The Movement for Black Lives believes that “prisons, police and all other institutions that inflict violence on Black people must be abolished and replaced by institutions that value and affirm the flourishing of Black lives.”

If you’re looking for a way to support protesters, The Bail Project believes that “…paying bail for someone in need is an act of resistance against a system that criminalizes race and poverty and an act of solidarity with local communities and movements for decarceration.”

Looking to help out locally in Minneapolis? Cities Care Collective is a “South-Minneapolis based rad worker-owned childcare co-op working to provide easy access childcare by and for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and queer organizers and families.”
